We utilize actual trailer hitch locking hitch pin locks. When you purchase an SCS Rack, you will receive a locking hitch pin and lock bar lock which are keyed alike.
At SCS Racks, we designed a bike carrier that has more flexibility, strength and features than any other bike carrier in the world, however the main goal is to protect your bikes from theft.
Only the best grade aluminum and steel go into the 2017 Magnum Anti-theft bike carriers. They are hand built in the USA, and confidently crafted to a standard of quality that enables the use of a lifetime warranty. There are no hinges which become weak points. There are no flimsy cables with lightweight locks as SCS Racks utilizes 5/8 inch steel to create a bolt cutter proof cage around your bikes. Being a modular unit, the Magnum can carry 1-3 bikes with the short load bar or 1-4 bikes with the long load bar. The rack can be dismantled to fit into your closet or small trunk space in seconds, and only weighs 20 pounds. Due to the efficient design, the Magnum has an extremely high load capacity of 150 pounds.

Locks
Do I require locks for the carrier? No, the rack comes with everything you will need to attach the rack to your receiver hitch safely. A lock and locking hitch pin is included.
Can I not use my locking bar? We recommend you always use your locking bar as the strength of the carrier increases when it is used.
Can I carry 4 bikes on the 1.25 inch receiver rack? We would not recommend that as our carrier can carry the weight of four bikes, but the manufacturer of the receiver hitch may have weight restrictions/limits.

A bolt cutter can cut up to 1/2 inch thick steel. Our locking bar is 5/8 inch cold rolled steel, too big for a handheld bolt cutter! If protection is what you are looking for, SCS Racks will deliver.
